The former David Jones department store and iconic 299 Bourke St is currently undergoing redevelopment to revitalise Melbourne’s shopping precinct and draw back customers to the CBD. Assisting the head contractor, Maben Group, Vic Civil had been appointed to conduct early structural works in constructing the preliminary elements of foundation underpinning, slab reinstatements and infills, concrete columns and core walls to pioneer this new retail outlet.

Vic Civil has been engaged to conduct specialist structural Remediation works on the Anthony’s Cutting Bridge. Works involve temporarily diverting the Western Highway and modifying the bridge structure. As part of these works, extensive hydro demolition and wire sawing followed by structural repairs will be undertaken.

Located within industrial Clayton, Vic Civil were awarded the civil works contract for PPG’s Water Based Paint Factory. With over 4,000m2 of concrete works the scope included R1 class pavement build up and industrial rated road aprons along with guard rail furniture and footings.

Engaged by repeat client Kane Constructions, Vic Civil had been awarded the civil works package to spearhead the new Chisholm TAFE Institute development in Frankston. With early works comprising of site stripping, demolition and simple concrete structural foundations to complex architectural finishes in the radiant Mentone York and Sunrise exposed aggregates, Vic Civil provided fundamental assistance and serviceability in a plethora of concrete constituents.

Civil and Structural concrete pavements for a 25,000 m2 agricultural processing facility including 1500m of drainage.

Working for repeat client, Maben Group, Vic Civil were simultaneously engaged to carry out the civil component of works in constructing a new shopping centre car park and roadway to cater for supermarket giants, Coles, Woolworths and Aldi as well as the structural foundation elements within the mall. The scope included, several pavement types including asphalt, light/heavy duty concrete and coloured pedestrian foot pathing and an assortment of slab variants including, pad/strip footings, raft slabs and conventional slabs on ground.

Vic Civil are currently completing an extensive site remediation for a new multi-purpose development site in Cranbourne. The site is full of saturated silty material unsuitable for construction. There is also constant groundwater flowing throughout the sandy-silt layer making any excavation or access extremely difficult. As a result, the entire site of approximately 15,000m2 was excavated and carted off site, and a suitable fill material was imported and placed under Level 1 supervision to enable construction to proceed. Additionally, a permanent subsoil drainage solution was installed to help with the groundwater underneath the capping material.

As part of the finishing works Vic Civil was engaged to complete over 500m2 architectural bluestone paving throughout several arcades and laneways at the QVM Munro site. Additional to paving works were the installation of stainless-steel drains, concrete hobs and asphalt footpath.

Vic Civil were engaged to complete works at the Bidfood site in Morwell for Texco Constructions. Achieving over 3000m2 of heavy-duty external pavement, loading docks and dock leveller slabs, concrete footings, crossovers, raft slabs, kerbs and footpaths across the project scope
