Major civil contractor for bundle 3 schools development with tight programme and deadlines all to be completed by December 2020. New venture and partnership with Kane for the building projects for half the associated civil works packages.

For over 2 months Vic Civil worked on the Leakes Rd/Derrimut Rd intersection as part of the Western Roads Upgrade for MRPV. When Vic Civil mobilised to site, the site itself needed a lot of work in order to reach the roads opening date. With the works zone spanning across 4000m2 Vic Civil had multiple work fronts and worked alongside a live traffic environment to deliver the project on time which was a big focus for the project team. All works were completed in line with Vic Roads and Council specifications which included the placement of over 4,000t. of material.

The works are located in the heart of Melbourne CBD, with noise and working hour limitations. With over 50t of steel reinforcement being required for the project and over 500m3 of concrete, the project team was required to plan the works with the Client to ensure no disruption to the operation of the Melbourne Central complex, adjacent roads or the local community.
The works are currently being undertaken in a number of stages, to facilitate a staged opening to the public and new tenants.

Civil contractor for the redevelopment project including upgrade of existing Emergency Department and Day Procedure Unit. Primary works consisted of external civil works with design and construct car park pavements to suit project requirements. Stormwater, NDD, pile cap and footing works also completed in live hospital environment.

Vic Civil was appointed the builder and civil contractor to remediate failed container storage yards at Grace Removalist’s Hallam logistics facility. The container yard remained part operational throughout the demolition and reinstatement works. The new 300mm thick post tensioned slabs are a significant upgrade to the facility and will assist with the continued growth of the Grace Removalists business.

Concrete works at the new Victoria Police building on Spencer St in Melbourne CBD. Vic Civil completed various structural concrete works and remediation works to existing elements within the building. The construction of a suspended bridge deck several stories in the air was a highlight of our scope.

Head contractor for GPT centre asset to remove existing failed bus interchange pavement. Major works consisted of excavation and repair of existing subgrades and pavement make up whilst shopping centre remained live and operational. Works completed included whole pavement process as one stop shop civil contractor.

As part of the civil works at Carey Grammar School redevelopment, a curved feature column was requested by the Architecture consultant to be constructed on the northern side of the new building. This concave column was constructed by Vic Civil in late 2019 using a mixture of 3d surveying, laser cutting of bespoke engineered formwork system, installation of bespoke fall protection system to assist in the construction phase with concrete delivered to the form via shotcrete. It was a huge effort from the site team, and we believe the photos speak volumes to this outstanding design concept that was brought to life by the team at Vic Civil!

Primary civil contractor completing external pavements and structural soil works at the Malt District in Cremorne. Certain demolition and civil pavement works were required to be completed over night shift to help mitigate the impact on live traffic and pedestrian access during the day in the area.
