Vic Civil was engaged as the main civil contractor at the new Docklands Studios Stage 6 project, in Docklands Melbourne.

The project is located adjacent to tidal water, resulting in construction methodologies which considered the tidal movements when excavations were undertaken. The project is due for completion at end of 2021.

Scope

  • Construction of piling bench
  • Tree removal
  • Removal of Contaminated soils – Cat B and Cat C
  • Environmental testing of materials on site
  • Installation of cast in situ retaining walls
  • Installation of new asphalt pavements
  • Excavation of 5m deep ‘Wet Stage’ in Coode island silt to allow underwater filming.
